Renew AC will provide over $30 million in direct construction financing for over 300+ residential renovation projects over the next 6 years!

Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley (“Habitat”) is currently seeking qualified Class “B” General Contractors to bid on and complete the projects as defined by their Habitat developed Scope of Work.

CONTRACTOR ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Contractors interested in bidding on Renew AC projects must meet the following requirements:

  • Active Class “B” General Building Contractors License
  • Licensed, bonded, insured, and in good standing with the Contractor’s State License Board (“CSLB”)

In addition, selected contractors will be required to provide the following documentation prior to starting any Renew AC funded projects:

  • Construction Contract signed by Contractor and Homeowner
  • Completed W-9
  • Proof of business license for city where project is taking place
  • Proof of current general, auto, and workers’ compensation insurance policies (includes subcontractors)
  • California Department of Health Lead Safe Supervisor/Worker Certification (for homes built prior to 1978)

BUILDING PROJECT TYPES: RESIDENTIAL REPAIRS

Habitat’s professional construction staff work closely with each homeowner to inspect their home and draft a detailed Scope of Work. While each job is unique, common improvements include:

  • Correction of existing health and safety hazards and code violations.
  • Structural improvements such as:
  • Roof and gutter replacement
  • Seismic strengthening and foundation repairs
  • Interior and exterior wall restoration and painting
  • Accessibility upgrades (i.e. shower conversion, accessibility ramp/lift installation etc.)
  • Insulation, weatherization, and energy efficiency upgrades (i.e. windows, doors, lighting etc.)
  • Electrical, plumbing and HVAC system improvements
  • General property improvements including:
  • Replacement of kitchen and bathroom fixtures, cabinets, countertops, and appliances
  • Exterior site improvements (i.e. sidewalks, fencing, hazardous tree removal and maintenance, etc.)
  • Creation of an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) within an existing residential footprint, or conversion of an existing illegal unit
